Project Engineer Finishing provide safety, product quality, production, productivity, yield, and manufacturing cost. Manages investigation, planning, and execution of process and equipment related projects in the areas stated above. Must be able to effectively communicate with multiple levels of the organization both verbally and in written/presentation forms. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplined team in a production environment, including multiple elevations and conditions.
Responsibilities Utilize systematic approach to continuous improvement.
Focus on determination of performance gaps through data collection and benchmarking.
Manage and prioritize continuous improvement projects that close performance gaps and help to achieve Key Performance Indicator targets and Performance Improvement Action Plan initiatives. Provide and develop technical expertise to achieve continuous improvement. This position involves working in the plant, with varying conditions and elevations. Safety audits and initiatives. Quality audits. Documentation of conditions and improvement activities on various subjects. Routine reporting, both written and verbal. Interaction with other departments, customers, and suppliers.
At times you may be required to supervise the hourly workforce. Various other duties, as needed, to support the business
Minimum Requirements B.S. from accredited college/university in Electrical or Metallurgical Engineering Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint.
Must be able to work a varied shift schedule in a multi-level facility, operating 24 hours per day.
One year of experience in an industrial setting. Some Supervisory experience. Strong problem-solving abilities.
Strong team building skills.
Preferred Requirements 3-5 years of experience in a steel mill.2 years of supervisory experience. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, & PowerPoint. Drawing management skills preferred.
